Because love never ends, we’re here to honor your pet and
support your heart through goodbye.

At Murrells Inlet Veterinary Hospital, we understand that pets are beloved family members.
The bond you share with your companion is unique, and the thought of saying goodbye can feel overwhelming. Our entire team is here to walk alongside you with compassion,
respect, and support during this most difficult time.
Knowing when it may be time to say goodbye is never easy. Many families find it helpful to consider their pet’s comfort, ability to enjoy daily activities, and overall quality of life. If you are uncertain, please know you do not have to face this decision alone—our doctors and staff are
here to gently guide you and support your family.
Grief takes many forms, and there is no “right” way to feel after a loss. You are not alone in your heartache, and we invite you to explore the resources we’ve gathered to help you through this journey. Above all, remember that choosing peace for your pet is
one of the most loving gifts you can give.
We have found that the Lap of Love team has compiled the best set of resources for helping pet owners understand end of life issues and grief support. Michigan State University's Veterinary Medical Center has a Pet Loss Grief Support Group led by a Veterinary Social Worker. These are remote meetings that are offered twice a month. They can help you process and provide a group that understands and allows you to express your feelings and talk about your experience.
